(Rehoboth Beach, DE) – A groundbreaking Ceremony was held on Tuesday for The Lodge at Truitt Homestead – the newest Retirement Community in the Rehoboth area. The Lodge is the only true Independent Living community in Rehoboth that offers all the luxury of Independent Living and its many amenities, but in a monthly rental concept without large buy-in fees. Beautiful and modern, Architectural firm Kimmel Bogrette designed The Lodge, with Cutler Associates helming construction. A 24.4 million-dollar upscale Independent Living community project, The Lodge at Truitt Homestead is scheduled to complete and open in the Summer of 2019.
In addition to the partners, developers and architects on the project, over 65 people were in attendance, including Greg Stevens, President & CEO of Vantage Point Retirement Living, Preston Schell, President of Ocean Atlantic Companies, Joan Thomas, Special Consultant to the President and Chief Executive Officer of Beebe Medical Center, many early depositors, as well as members of the Truitt Family.
Roger Truitt, long time landowner, said, “The Truitt family has owned the 23.5 acre Truitt Farm for more than a century. Three generations of Truitts have owned this property and, in keeping with my late father’s wishes, our partnership {with Schell, Ocean Atlantic & Vantage Point} will preserve the Truitt name and legacy.”
The Lodge at Truitt Homestead is an 85-unit Independent Living community just two miles from the beach and right in the heart of all the best that Rehoboth has to offer. Featuring a variety of studio/standard, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options – all with balconies or patios – The Lodge is being built as part of Truitt Homestead, an age-restricted community for those 55 and over. With a growing waitlist for depositors, The Lodge’s unique concept as the only community in the area to offer Independent Living on a monthly rental basis speaks right to the needs and desires of locals.
The community is much more than a rental community for seniors. In fact, it’s perfect for active seniors who want to spend more time enjoying their retirement and less time on household chores and maintenance. “We’re proud to offer many of the same independent living services and amenities typically found in an entrance-fee community without the large upfront cost” says Mr. Stevens. The Lodge will provide residents with country club-style amenities such as an upscale restaurant, casual bistro, pub lounge, indoor/outdoor pool, and fitness programs. Other amenities will include a movie theater, full-service salon and spa, and outdoor terrace with water features and fire pits. Exceptional services will also be provided to residents of the community, including an in-house concierge, weekly housekeeping, security, transportation, daily activities, social programs, and more.
The Lodge will also offer flexible health and wellness services to residents through a unique association with Beebe Healthcare. These services are designed to help residents proactively maintain their Independence while living at The Lodge. Examples of services include: a dedicated health and wellness concierge, on-site therapy services, healthcare coordination through the Beebe Healthcare system, and access to on-site physician appointments.
The Lodge is being developed as a joint venture between Vantage Point Retirement Living, LLC of Exton, Pennsylvania and Ocean Atlantic Companies of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Daily operations of The Lodge at Truitt Homestead will be the responsibility of Vantage Point Retirement Living, a regional senior living development and management company which has been committed to providing seniors with best-in-class lifestyle communities in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland for over 20 years.
